| Burdock Leaf Castings/Cabbage Leaf Bowl | Ladies Painting Their Leaves |
The technique of leaf casting is an art form where the gardener gets to enjoy the bounty of the harvest year after year with the beautiful castings. You will be able to bring your own leaf of choice or a leaf will be provided for you. You will be instructed through the course of the casting which will then have to rest for approx. 7 days to cure the cement. Then you will be invited back to finsh the art of dry brushing your color onto your casting. The 2 step process will involve casting, painting and the sealing will be done on your own as time will not warrant the third step in one day. All materials needed for the castings with the exception of your own leaf if wanted will be provided. The initial application of undercoat paint will be applied before your arrival. You will then proceed with instruction to apply the coloring with dry brushing technique with supervision.
If you choose to bring your own leaf. The best specimen of leaves are: Hosta, rhubarb, burdock, sunflower, elephant ear, squash, pumpkin, banana plant leaf.
Space is limited to 12 people and will be filled on a first come basis. Call early and make your reservation. (585)948-9508
