A Walk Through CopperTop Gardens

The 1-acre CopperTop Gardens is part of our private residence. It is also home to Marcy’s Greenhouse. The gardens is a dream that has evolved over a 20 year period. The design, planning, planting and maintenance is all done by us, the Cordes family.

As you enter this garden sanctuary, we ask that you be mindful of our philosophy that is represented here: It is our wish that all who enter enjoy themselves, leave their worries at the garden gates, and upon leaving here may your spirit feel rejuvenated and your soul energized.

Themed areas, statuary, reflecting pool, and water elements create a colorful sanctuary. The gardens consist of ten color/location themed areas full of perennials, trees, shrubs, bushes, vines, and of course the yearly planted annuals. Blooms begin in early Spring with 6,000 bulbs of crocuses, tulips, daffodils, and allium. The constant blooming cycle continues throughout the Summer and Fall seasons.

The gardens are also home to many unique, self-crafted garden art and water displays such as our stone walls, stamped concrete walkways, statuary, the giant 9ft round watering can, and many other one-of-a-kind garden items.

We have had the Feng Shui of the gardens professionally consulted to ensure that the energy is flowing freely and unobstructed.

All of our garden fences, gates, arbors, obelisks, and  hangers have been designed by us and hand crafted by a dear friend, Yost, who is an Amish Blacksmith.

CopperTop Gardens in the Media

CopperTop Gardens was twice featured in The Buffalo News in 2006. The giant 9ft watering can fountain was the focal point of the article “Artful Touches.”

The garden was also the opening article, “Bloom County,” for the “Your Neighbors Garden Series” in May of 2006. It was this article that caught the attention of the famous painter, Thelma Winter. Thelma and Jeep came to visit and took some photos. We were very pleased to hear that the gardens were picked to be painted.

CopperTop Gardens was painted in 2007 by artist Thelma Winters. The painting titled “CopperTop Gardens II” won first place at the Lewiston-Youngstown Art Festival. Thelma’s website is at www.thelmawinter.com. Other paintings that were done are “Hear the Bells” and “CopperTop Gardens I”.
